Anyone have suggestions for quiet 50mm fans and where to buy them? I am looking to quiet down a slot 1 HSF. I was able to find a low speed ADDA over at Pham Computers but it seems they are out of stock. Thanks

I dont know what they put in corporate PC's, but my Work machine (PIII 700 slot 1) is so quiet you have to strain to hear it.
Maybe you should investigate this further, is sound is your top prioirty.
Also if you have a cheap case, a more expensive beefier item might reduce noise enough.

Try Simply computers for a decent branded case.

Have a look at millisec, they have a good selection of 50 mm fans at various cfm's and db's. I believe that anything less than about 35 db will be fairly inaudible over the case fans, harddrives ect...

Here is a cheap and easy way to quiet down a fan;
Go to the section on the top right on quieting fans. I works suprisingly well, did a friend of my sons fans this way and knocked the noise down 40%.
