If you are just starting out overclocking and have an IC7 or an IC7 Max 3 board, I've posted a number thoughts over on the Abit forum for your perusal. It was as comprehensive and straight forward as I could make it.

If you are a gamer disable HT it will slow down the games. Unless you like to encode mp3 while playing games all the time then it will help.

Is there really a noticable difference by playing with or without HT enabled. Or is it just a difference in terms of 200fps vs. 190fps?

You get the idéa. :)

In Win XP, there are more advantages to having HT enabled than having it disabled. If you are playing a game a lot that does happen to run better with HT off, then by all means disable it. But we aren't talking much performance difference. I leave my HT on all the time.
