This system will be built for mild gaming, (BF 1942 mainly) and alot of data storage for LAN parties. Mild sound vid editing/encoding too...

As far as what I am using for drives, DVD-r CD-R and a DVD(all stealthed). No less then 1700 Gigs of onboard drive storage, and looking at 1.5 gig of memory, dual water cooling systems (2 pumps, 2 rads, 2 res'). CPU/Vid and the hard drives would be water cooled, and dual 500 watt power supplies and lastly a built in 17" LCD in one side panel.
As far as cooling, 6 80 mil fans, and stacked 120's on the radiators.

Yes desktop, yes a custom case that I am already working on. 27"T X 10"W X 20" D
And yes I will be posting pics when done all over the net.

So these are my questions...
what would be better? FX 51 / FX 53 and why
A good MB to go with?
And lastly good dual channel memory?

After I can get the internal temps stable, I would also be looking at possibly mild OC'ing later.

Yes wanting this to be the last hardcore system I build for a while.
Considering this is gonna be 'round $1300...

Both the FX 51 & 53 would be a waste:

FX-51 = s940 = ECC REGISTERED RAM ONLY

FX-53 = s940 or s939, but they tend to overclock very poor

Basically, you'd be much better off with a 90nm s939 processor. Since you're looking to spend some cash anyway, just get a 3500+ which should easily hit any speeds you're looking for with an FX-51/53.

Good Motherboards to consider: DFI NF4 Ultra-D/SLI-D (PCI-E); MSI K8N Neo4 (PCI-E); MSI K8N Neo2 (AGP); ASUS A8N SLI (PCI-E)

Memory: TCCD; G. SKill PC 4400, OCZ EL Platinum Rev 2, Patriot PC 3200 with XBL Technology.....
