I have an SVC Golden Gate hsf on my xp 1800 @1725. Can anyone tell me how to make it less noisey???

Also my temps at full load are about 44c would making the fan less noisey increase my temps too high? Should I reduce the o/c?

You can mod the fan for less voltage so it will run slower but your temps will be higher. You can also upgrade your hsf to one that takes 80mn fans such as AX-7, Pal8045, MCX462, 60mn are too loud.

The only good way to go about that is to reduce the fan speed, which means installing a potentiometer. A 5v 100ohm will work just fine. You can get them from jameco

i suggest you just get an 80mm hsf, better performance, and alot less noise get the ax7, alpha pal 8045, or the swiftech mcx462 with a panaflo fan on it..(can be found at www.heatsinkfactory.com for good prices) also, the alpha pal 8045 with the delta 47 cfm fan is pretty quiet, and as you can tell by my temps its has very good performance
