3600mhz cl 18 is not any faster than 3200mhz cl 16

4x16gb 3600mhz cl16 is around 172 euros (cheaper than 2x32gb at the same speed)

32gb 3600mhz cl 14 is expensive and not 64gb but the only set,kit where i would go back to 32gb

32gb 3200mhz cl 14 is also expensive

4000 mhz running at 3600mhz cl 16 or 3733 mhz cl 16 might be 4 ram sticks and not recommeded since high speed quad channel (4 ram sticks) migt not be that easy to get running at rated speed, the same with 4x16gb 3600mhz cl16

Well IMO you are SOL.

And any purchase gains you almost literally nothing. You aren't going up in capacity and the speed differences aren't noticeable.

What tangible benefits are you expecting again?

Better 0.1% and 1% lows with 3600mhz cl 16 (smoother gaming)

A little more responsive pc if i get 32gb 3200mhz cl 14

32 or 64 gb 3600 mhz cl14 Both, but at a premium price

I don't need 32 gb but 64gb is nice to have (seen video where 64gb kan be faster than 32gb , generally fps)

3200mhz is okay 3600mhz is faster but more expensive

cl16 if high speed ram is okay cl14 is expensive

Would best compromise be 32gb 4000mhz cl 18 ripjaws running at 3733mhz cl 16 which i know they can do with the normal ryzen 5000 cpus and they are cheap

Good luck noticing any of that with this upgrade. You're better off putting that money away for a more significant system upgrade....something you'll actually feel.... to a modern ddr5 system.

What resolution do you game at?

Im not at all gonna upgrade to ddr 5 ram with a new cpu (5700x3d)

2560x1440 180hz
I forgot you did that... its been a long thread with a lot of spinning tires in the middle.

Well, this isn't something most people would do as it's a waste of money (you're not going to notice a thing outside of benchmarks) but, I've seen some dumb ways to spend money and buy a PC/parts here lately, lol.

Well if i played dota 2 (also remember my timings are not 16-18-18-18 a little on the high side)

If DOTA is your thing... and you need more than 100/300 FPS...otherwise...........

Point is... thats nit common at all. ;)

Typically, CL scales with voltages and sub-timings don't need that but highly depend on the used IC. If your current RAM is based on Hynix, then just push the voltage, and you get something like 3600 CL14-19-19. If it's Micron, then you can push main timings and 2-3 more important sub-timings, but most of them won't go much lower. Samsung didn't have any 32GB modules in the retail market.
Anyway, I would try to overclock it and not waste money on a new, barely better memory kit.

c14 is just expensive even 2x16gb 3200mhz cl 14 if you don't wanna buy Mushkin ram

So.. were 60 posts in... at this point you either need to put the money up for a new kit (big yikes) or overclock. :)
