Don't use wd-40. Use 3 in 1 oil.

from what i heard wd-40 acually takes lub off the fan. i use silicone lubricant on my piston rods on my workout equipment and they told me wd-40 takes lube off so it's not great.

wd-40 is a water displacer (hence the wd). its made to clean stuff off, not lubricate. from what i hear rem-oil works great (its gun lube in a spray can).
