Hey there, been lurking for a while, first time posting.
I have some questions about overclocking. Currently I'm running an M17X R2 5870 Crossfire / i7 920XM system, notebook dont hate lol. I'm benching off a single 40GB SSD that is dedicated as my benching SSD. I'm looking for advice on how I might be able to break 20K Vantage. So far the closest I've come is 19291 on Vantage. The run was done with an overclocked GPU setup. Stock clocks are 700/1000. The run was done with a reflashed vbios of 935/1270 and an increased voltage from 1.05v to 1.15v. I also had the CPU running at 26x multiplier, 5% BIOS overclock with 140MHz FSB. Additionally I had CPU TDP increased to 92w and TDC at 78A. For cooling I was running the benchmark in front of an airconditioner, keyboard removed so that the A/C was blowing cold air directly on top of the CPU/GPU heasinks, with the majority of the GPU's exposed cautious as to prevent any condensation.
My question is what else can I do to try and raise the GPU score, or prevent thermal throttling on the CPU? Scores severly drop if the CPU hits 95*C as the system throttles back the CPU. I'm trying to see if I can break 20K Vantage for a laptop. Stock, the system hits around 15K in Vantage maybe. Is there any other programs that I can try? Riva tuner locks it up if I try to software O/C the cards that high, and I'm currently running 10.7beta drivers on the GPUs.
Thanks for any advice, it'd be greatly appreciated.
Don't Bash for OCing a laptop lol
Vantage Overall: P19291
GPU: 18627
CPU: 21600
