mmmm, EVGA GTX 1080 TI ? My gtx 970 is getting long-in-the-tooth, time for an upgrade.

It will be a birthday present and re-retirement 'gift'(to myself). Sure beats a pair of socks or another bathrobe from the wife. ;)

Last beauty arrived today. It's time to slip them all into something more comfortable. Too bad I'm stuck at work. I could use a little afternoon delight.

I think he's going to make torin3 mad again.

I believe you are right. I guess torin3 will have to get a few more new cards too ;)

Naw, he already out-produces me by quite a bit. I've already realized that my daily rig needs to be on a 20 amp circuit and I'm going to have to set that up before I add the 4th card. If don't do that, the circuit it is on now will start tripping the breaker.

Plus, I've got to get another UPS for the second PSU as the current one is starting to give me overload warnings at 900+ watts.

I don't want to dig through the wall to put in another wall socket, so I'm going to put in a rafter mounted outlet box in the basement on its own 20 amp breaker and plug the battery backups into that through the old AC vent. That way I don't have to do remodeling.

you might talk to someone about that.
my office was on a single breaker, they pulled some wires through and now all the wall sockets are on two breakers, no remodel.

House was built in the '50s and whoever built it put all the outlets on the ground floor on a single breaker. It won't be that expensive, just a moderate pain. But the 20 amp outlet is something that I can do myself for the cost of materials. We've got 200 amp service and plenty of open spots for the breaker. Plus I'm going to be using that spot in the basement for a shop area, so the power there will a good thing. Nothing high draw to interfere with the computer either.
