continued from this thread... basically in that thread there was mention of being able to turn a mag2 into a mag3 by removing the "flow restrictor" so I took my pump apart, didn't find anything interesting(i must be blind) Well, I just got bored yet again.. and since i'm not using my mag2 atm it was the closest thing I could find to tear apart.. and i found:

gee, could it be a "flow restrictor"?..

highly doubt removing that would make water flow anywhere near that of a mag3 but thought i'd share..

on a side note... would taking some sandpaper and "boring" (kinda like they do to engines..)some of the plastic from inside the intake and outtake barbs be a bad thing?

but but... but.. I have no extra tubing.... I tear my rbx apart at least once a day lately anyway..:bang head thinking about trying it tho..

What about using your block in place of extra tubing? Anything that would create resistance?

k well I tried.. if it's not good enough.. bite meh.
ruled out the water spray approach for fear of shocking myself to death(even though it sounds like fun..) power outlet is like 4 inches above my water tank.. so... i did this:

the empty gallon jug + timer method.. you did say crude right?

no .second times on the stop watch sadly.. tested each twice to be sure with times.. started the timer right as i plugged in the pump.. emptied the jug(doh?) and held the tube straight up so the water went down in the tube to res water level between tests.. anyway i'm tired here's what i got..
with restrictor: 15secs to fill jug.
without restrictor: 14secs.
600 gal. pump just for the fook of it: 10secs
I'm 99% sure water wetter kills brain cells now.. nasty crap. so, you do the math.. I R too stoopid

Is that inlet barb permanent? or something you wipped together? I havent seen any danner mag pumps with those in them before.

Jon

not sure i get the question but yeah it's stock barbs.. I don't do the whole "adapter for tubing" thing.. I just stretch the tube over the barbs and clamp it.(why kill flow with adapters?)
