I have a Tyan Thunder i840, and no matter what I do, the on-board NICs will not work. I've called Tyan, they told me to try a few things (already done, very basic troubleshooting procedures), but nothing helps. PLEASE help me! I get the following errors under Win2k on boot that deal with the NICs (found in Event Viewer):

I have the on-board SCSI disabled both via jumper and in the BIOS (latest, version 1.02). The LAN adapters are enabled (jumper is open on the motherboard, closing it disables them), but I see no BIOS options for them anywhere... the only BIOS options changed from defaults are the following: "Memory ECC" is set to "H/W ECC" (the RD-RAM is ECC), "PnP OS" is set to "Yes", "ACPI Aware" is set to "Enabled", and the on-board SCSI is disabled through a BIOS option.
There is only one add-in PCI card installed, which is the Adaptec 2100S SCSI RAID controller (latest firmware, 3607 I believe) in PCI slot 6. The system is running Win2k Server (no service packs yet, as it has not been able to get online due to a lack of a network connection).

Would installing SP2 help? I would sincerely appreciate any and all help I can get with this, and I will post more relevant information as I find it. Please feel free to respond with a question, as it will aid in my diagnosing the problem. Thanks!!!!!!

Try turning off PnP OS and ACPI. Do they show up as the system is booting and checking for hardware? Do you have Win2K drivers installed for these NIC's? Have you tried booting under Win 98 (I believe Win 2K allows a dual boot system)? Do your NIC's require a particular IRQ that is being stolen by something else? If so you may have to remove that item or manually reserve that IRQ for the NIC.

have you tried linux yet? linux has automatic detection of NICs so if them work there you probably have some micro$oft virus.
