Im in the market for a new video card for my system. Right now im using the onboard video of a MSI K7N2-L (i believe its the GeForce MX440) but Ive come across a GREAT deal to upgrade my board to the Asus A7N8X Deluxe and I want to but I dont have a spare video card lying around, and because im broke right now i need a card fast something a little bit better than what im using now but not too expensive (i plan to upgrade within the next 6 monts), also I play alot of C&C generals, and Splinter Cell here are my options:(also i dont plan to OC)

ATI 9100
ATI 8500 LE
Geforce MX440

So which would be the best buy? Also is the ATI 9100 64mb better than the ATI 9100 128MB? If so how could that be??

The 64mb might be a little faster in most things but probably not on the newest games and stuff. I would go for a Ti4200 if you can for around 90$ or a little less. 9100 and 8500 are basically the same thing, i think the 9100 has a newer version of something that's pretty useless.

The 9100 and 8500LE are exactly the same thing. The 64mb cards generally have faster RAM than the 128mb cards. Even though it's nice to have 128mb of RAM on a card, it's really quite useless for a card of the 8500's caliber. Go for the 9100 or 8500LE. They're substantially better than the MX440.

The 9100 actually has a new feature.. It's like a new version of something... useless though i'm sure. I have seen Ti4200's for about 80$, i would definately go with that if you can.. it's a pretty big increase in performance from a 8500/9100

I guess you are trying to stay around 100.00? But if you are going to do it in a six month time then wait for the next ATi card to come out and the 9500's or 9600's will drop in price. As they are only about 150-175 now it should drop close to your range. If you want to rush it then just spend the extra 75 or so bucks and get a 9500 np and basically get a 9700 with the mod.
