Hello,

I'm looking for a small managed switch for my home to connect some devices to. Unmanaged switch is not an option because I need some features like bandwidth/traffic control.

I'm thinking one of these two, which would be better?

Mikrotik RB260GSP

TP-Link TL-SG108E

If you have any other suggestions please share.

Thanks

the mikrotik looks to be a router, and the tplink is unmanaged.

The mikrotik is actually a switch and the tplink despite the name have many managed features like QoS and traffic control

why not get something that is actually marketed as a Managed switch if you are looking for in particular, as you asked.. a managed switch something like

if you are wanting to stick with the two you have chosen, i'll answer the question and say the mikrotik because it's going to be more feature full.

A router by itself can't do it? Many have those features..

there are many a things routers (especially consumer grade) cannot do, most routers can't control traffic on a per device or port basis, at least not without open-wrt and some config.
