Mandrake 8.2 and SB audigy?

hello all, i just installed mandrake 8.2 onto this system and i was wondering if there was any way to get it to work with my sound blaster audigy? the install program didn’t even see it!, it didn’t even exist as far as it was concerned… are there any drivers for this card under linux? i have looked everywhere with no results so i turn to you guys for help , thanks in advance!

go into KDE or gnome and then open up the mixer. turn the volume up it comes muted/turned all the way down by default. see if this works. you can also type lsmod into the command prompt to see if it installed a driver.

There's also a kernel support for the Audigy under "Unofficial 3rd-party kernel additions" when you goto recompile your kernel

I haven't seen any category like that in the stock kernel - is that maybe put it by your distro maker?

Yeah, it's in the mandrake 8.2 distro
