c'mon people

30+ views and nobody knows anything!!!

320GB yammmmmy

?????????

I haven't heard anything, the 200GB drives never really became popular I assume becuase you could get 2 120GB drives and still have some money left over for the price you pay for the 200GB.

they arent only made for just ppl... they are also made for companys and they are probably sweet for servers :)

As explained in the "EDIT" in the first post of this thread:

My friend Matt is buying four of the Max Line Plus II line 250GB Maxtors from Futureshop and he's gonna raid them together in raid 0 to give him 1000GB of hard drive space! Its gonna be one fast raid system.

BTW, Maxtor has 500GB Hard Drives coming in February. The only catch is they are 5400rpm models.

500GB...that is amazing. I have no idea what I would do with all of that spage. I have a 181 gig scsi drive that I have not been able to fill up yet. I could sell it and buy 3 or 4 of the IDE 500 GB drives though. I guess I might start a FTP or something. WOW

futureshop as in www.futureshop.ca ? i tried .com and got transferred over to .ca and the only top drive they have is the WD 180gig for a laughable $599:rolleyes:

early prices on these drives start at about $350 and come down as time goes along. I'm just guessing from historical pricing--it could be the same this time around. OH and big OEMs get them before retail shops. Often when they go for such high dollar the mfgr often includes an ATA 133 card.

%))GB!!!!!!!!!!!!!! .... Oooooops

500GB!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ... got so exited that my hand freaked out and started hitting the SHIFT key by itself ......

Any link to an anouncement from Maxtor or comments from other sites?; or is it just a rummor?

(500GB!!! OMG!!!! And I thought 320GB was surreal.)

Thanks!

Convert that number over to USD ;)

I just got my 120gb WDSE in September, my next step may be to get a 2nd one and raid 0 them, or to just get 2 80gb se drives on the side and raid 0 them, I'll probably go crazy and get too much as usual.

that is an insane amount of storage...and i agree with AmigoThree and then buy yourself a raid controler....

pretty soon there will have terabyte sized, liquid bearings, and liquid cooled harddrives....crazy

no soon they come up with the 10 tb memory cards cos its there from 1998 but its been silenced down ;)
i can look for the link though but i think u can find it in cnet news ;)

Ok its been now almost 5 months since the last post here. Any news???

My ex-girlfriends tell me I'm pretty bad when it comes to getting clues. So I could be wrong, but I suspect the absence of an answer means no, no one has heard about a 320GB Maxtor.
