hi...I have just bought a Maxtor 80GB HDD and I set the jumpers to the way I wanted (master) and I was wondering how I would set up WINXP on it...would I have to boot from CD-ROM...also there is another problem...my computer doesnt find the HDD (the hard-drive is blank) :-/ thnx in advance

If you have a full version of Windows XP then just boot from the CD. You will be given a chance to create a C partition and format it during the installation.

If you have an upgrade version then unless it can find either Windows 98 or ME somewhere on your system then you will be given chance to insert a Windows 98 or ME CD into the CD drive as proof of eligibility for upgrade. Otherwise installation is the same as with a full version.
