Ditto on that, man. My last Western Digitl drive failed after 3 months. I'll be using HDD coolers from now on.
 
I have never put one on and haven't had any problems. All Maxtor drives 7200rpm 2+ years running for both. Hey, it can't hurt!:D
 
the people with most hdd failures, run alot of programs and cad programs that ask aslot from your hdd. people who make music, or basically giving the hdd alot of stress. no granted there is people that only use there puter to surf the web and it kills a hdd. thats crappy quality. if you plan on asking alot from your hdd , be nice and give it a cooler of some type
