My CPU temp is always around 9-11C higher than my Mb temp. at idle or surfing. Is this the norm?

AsusA7M266/1.2Ghz
256Meg 2100 DDR Crucial
WinWBK38(92) AS2

Question: Where is the mobo temp measured? At the chipset? AGP bus?

Just curious :)

At idle the difference in my temps is about 2c under load its about 6c (ish). Your reading may be inaccurate. If so then assuming that things run fine now, regardless of the improper temps reported, so long as those improper temps remain "improperly" the same you shouldn't be too concerned.

However this is OVERCLOCKERS.COM so I suggest you round your cables, put a seperat sink and fan on EVERY chip, "swiss cheese"ify you case, load up on fans and pelts and run the thing inside a walk in refrigerator in the arctic circle. (it can't hurt)

I have no idea. The program is Asus Probe and the board is an AsusA7M266/1.2Ghz.
I'm using a GlobalWinWBK92(55.1cfm)AS2 and there's a chipset fan running as well.
Not Oc'd
My case temp is <1C from ambient.
Anyone know where it may be taking the mb temp?

I'm not sure, but on my epox 8k7a its located near the 3rd or 4th pci slot, or maybe itwas the 5th, I don't know but you may try looking for it near that area.
