Thank goodness for mb5. I had just got done cleaning the dust out of my water cooled rig. I went and reconnected everything and fired her up. After about a minute i started to smell something, the next thing i knew my system started to go into its shutdown mode. After it was shutdowned i noticed that the power supply strip that my water pump plugs into was not turned on nor was the pump plugged in  . So i then turned the pump on to cool the cpu down then i took the water block off and reapplied AS3 to it.

Thank goodness everything is fine. It is a good thing that i took the time to set up MB5 properly, i have it set to shutdown at 36c.

thats why you should have the computer and pump on the same power strip. you can never turn the computer on if the pump isnt on. or add a relay like i did so the pump turns on with the computer.

How do you set up to shutdown. I have MBM 5 also but I can not set it up. I have the same situation like you and been wanting to do that just for safety

Open up mbm5, go to the temperature tab and from there you can adjust the temperature and have it sound an alarm if it goes above that temp. Also you need to download the program "Shutdown Now". After you download this you can check the box in MBM5 to start this program when it hits the preset temp. Shutdown now is shareware so it will only work for a couple of weeks, you can dowload the full version only if you pay for it.

you can go to the mbm page and there is a download called shutdown(not shutdown now) it is a small exe file that works with mbm5 and will do the same thing SHDN will do, only it is free.

Thanks guys. Shutdown work great. I tested it 2 times both with default and with /nowait option. It is also free cool :)

Wont the bios shutdown program work the same way? With motherboard monitor you have to allready be in windows for it to work but the bios one works on bootup.Correct me if im wrong

it does do that but i with MBM5 you can monitor your temps and such and the shutdown tool is a plus. ALso, you can set it to shutdown if fan rpm's get too low as well as temps. It just puts it all in one neat package:cool:
