Apparently this version finally goes back to a story driven campaign instead of random missions, with plenty of pre-rendered cutscenes, but I wonder if they aren't setting up another game by making us play the Smoke Jaguars which were wiped out almost at the start of the invasion and not even the adjacent clans cared... Since it's built in UE5 it has some stuttering issues that will hopefully be patched fairly fast, but other than that it looks like it's the finished game

Mech BR, plz.......................

Anyway, loved the Mech thing since I played it on PAPER back in the 80s, lol. This piques my interest.

Mechwarrior 5 was a big disappointment for me, performance aside, the game was a slog to go through since it was all randomly generated missions (was expecting something more like MW4 mercs), this one seems much better (for my taste, love the lore) and much more fast-paced since it's all Clan mechs, heat be damned  Can't wait to get my hands on my favourites Mad Dog, Timber Wolf and Daishi (Uziel, Mad Cat and Atlas for IS)

In Chicago we had Battletech.

I would have liked to have tried Battletech. Jeff Gerstmann was just talking about it a few podcasts ago. Apparently there were newer revisions/versions based on mech warrior 2 or something

That's correct! And the Battletech Center was AWESOME.

It was all located at North Pier (not to be confused with Navy Pier).

There were special squadrons that were only available in Chicago as well.

Ok, sod this, sick and tired of getting hyped for certain genres and being served garbage instead. 30fps-60fps on a 3080ti @1440p max settings (no DLSS) is disgusting, UE5 needs a serious overhaul or people need to go back to school and learn to code properly, 99% of gamers don't have a 4090 to play games comfortably and/or aren't happy with console peasants 30fps frame rates. I see next to no difference between this and the previous MW5 graphics-wise, and even the cutscenes have some glaring rendering issues. To say I'm f****** disappointed is a royal understatement :bang head:temper: Returned to Steam!

You're a nicer guy than I am... I would've NEVER given Mechwarrior 5 another shot...

I played MPBT (Multiplayer BattleTech) from 91 to 97 on the GEnie network. My highest rank was Lt Gen.
