I have a Lanparty Ultra-D
It's working quite well with my dual Opteron (165), up to 2.8 Ghz
However, whereas in single channel I manage to reach easily 275 Mhz with the memory, i just cant go above 220Mhz in dual channel.
I guess (or let's say I hope), there is a way around that. (I am not posting my settings, since I tried many of them and pretty open to any that you may suggest). Hopefully it's not the memory controler of my opteron ;(
Could someone help me ?
Thanks !

have you tested the sticks to make sure both sticks reach 275 alone? What memory are you running anyways?

my DFI used to have problems with my RAM, because although they were rated the same, they were different brands and IC's. I just got a new 2x512mb TCCD kit of matched ram and im seeing 296mhz easy 2.5-4-3-7.

I live in japan and I didnt catch the memory name ;)
However I insisted to get the best overclocking memory they had, and paid twice the price of generic memory. I'll get someone to check the name for me
Actually it's very simple: when I put both sticks on banks of different colors (let's say 1 yellow and 1 orange), TOGETHER, I erach with no effort (And not even increasing the voltage) 275Mhz 1:1
As soon as I want to go for Dual Channel... The best I get si around 210/220 depending on the tweaks I do...
It's really frustarting...

So... my memory Brand is Century (Japanese brand), the precise reference being CD512MC-DDU400A/ELP
Supposed to be real good one (I'd rather have gone for some OCZ... but couldnt find some in Tokyo)
Anyway it's working at stock volt, CL2.5, and agressive timings at 275Mhz 1:1 with BOTH sticks on the MB. The problems arises only when I try to go for Dual Channel...
Any clue of a tweak that could hel in the Bios (6/23 Bios) ?

Looks like now the RAM refuses to do 275 Mhz single channel 1:1
Mmmh it's really a pain... I guess I should bring back this crap memory... Not sure they will accept though (Welcome to Japan...)
It's relaly weird it used to accept to run at this speed and now doesnt want to
I gues that's what everybody menas when saying the board is picky about RAM...

Finally changed it for some DDR600 memory.
Now running at 312Mhz 1:1 ehehe
The dual opteron 165 runs at 2.8 Ghz. Managed to boot in windows at 3Ghz but totally unstable ;(
Anyway for a dual processor I am happy !
