Hi,

I just bought the following:

CPU = Intel Q6600
MOBO = ASUS P5K3 DELUXE/WIFI-AP P35 R

I want to buy DDR3 memory but don't know which one to get.
The CPU does 1066 FSB and the MOBO says the following:

"Dual-Channel DDR3 1066
The motherboard supports DDR3 memory that features data transfer rates of 1066/800 MHz to meet the higher bandwidth requirements of the latest operation system, 3D graphics, multimedia, and Internet applications."

"Native DDR3 1333 Support
To attain top performance, ASUS engineers have successfully unleashed the true potential of DDR3 memory. While in DDR3 1333 mode, ASUS´s exclusive technology offers a revolutionary choice of FSB 1333 - providing great performance for 3D graphics and other memory demanding applications"

So should I get DDR3 that does 1333 or 1066? If I get the DDR 3 1333 then can I OC my CPU to run at 1333 FSB?

Thanks
Mo

I have this on my P5K3 and it will happily run at DDR1600 CL7-6-6-20

quality gear

I have not overclocked any PC before and wanted to ask what those memory settings mean (CL7-6-6-20). What is a good setting to keep them at that will keep the memory running at low temps.?

New egg specs show this memory will run at 6-5-5-18.
Also would a getting memory that runs at lower volts be better or does that take away from performance?
