I have two Thermaltake Smartfans (the original, not the II) acting as exhaust in my case, a quiet led side intake fan, and two generic 80mm fans that came with my case (chieftec dragon) acting as intake.

My pc is pretty loud- especially those twin smartfans. I can deal with it, and have been for a while now, but I've been thinking that it might be nice to have my "white noise machine" run a little quieter :D

Does anyone have some suggestions? I'd definitely be looking to replace the smartfans, and probably the two generic fans as well (they're not exactly quiet either.) Neato led lighting would be a plus, but is not necessary :p

The only thing I can think of immediately is Panaflo's; my only concern is that I"d prefer not to loose too much cfm, (I really like the cfm on those smartfans, but damn they are LOUD! Somehow I don't believe TT website's claim of a max of 39db,) however if I want quieter I understand that it will be inevitable.

Thanks!

OK, first of all, for all you case modding needs:

Now, for those fans. I would recomend these:

linkage

First, I don't think he's going to buy from a Canadian retailer if he's in the US. Second, those fans you linked to aren't really that quiet. Also, I don't think you're allowed to have that link to ADPmods in your signature, but I may be wrong.

If you want quiet fans then get some Panaflo L1As. They're cheap and they can get very quiet when undervolted. If you don't want something that quiet, however, then Panaflo M1As are good. They're the next step up in terms of speed and noise from the L1A, and they aren't that loud, either.

well the system is a bit quieter now- I *finally* removed the mesh that covered the fans from my case (go wire cutters!,) and put real fan grills over the nice big open holes I made.

I know, I know- I was just a bit uncomfortable cutting up even a small amount of my case at the time I built my pc.

It should be even nicer once my new fans come in
