I've run into a real problem with my old 2100+ machine. It appears all the networking services are messed up and I've decided (since it's a 3+ year old install) to just ditch the whole thing and reformat (XP Pro). I had planned on this anyway, it's just a month early. But ...

The old machine has been offline for ~5 days now (it'll be over 7 before I can do this) and has been crunching the whole time. So how do I migrate the WUs and results to the new HDD so I don't loose anything?

- If put the old HDD in as D-drive can I just run BOINC off of it with no installation in XP?
- If that won't work, what if I install BOINC in the new XP then copy the directory off the old HDD into the same directory name on the new HDD? Will that work correctly or would I need to copy another file not present in the BOINC directory (maybe something in \Windows or \DandS that tracks WUs and results)?
- Or maybe some regediting (I'm up for that if need be but I'd rather not)?

Any help/advise would be appreciated ...

You just need to copy entire Boinc dir ( c:\programfiles\Boinc )to some other location and then after reformat and reinstall just copy it back to c:\programfiles\ dir and run Boinc installation again. It should install over the curret files you have there and just resume where it was before.
