how can i be sure to get an agoia chip? are the green chips agoia, and the brown are the others? cause i might be getting a green xp 1600, and id like it to be agoia, so i can overclock alot

my friend...lol, hes gonna upgrade, and i didnt know if all green chips were agoia or what...i dont know the diff steppings of xps....but would newegg have all agoias? or where should i get one from if i really wanted an agoia?

you might get it from your friend? if so then find out the stepping and post it and we can help you out. As far as newegg having the agoia, i am sure they do and i am sure you would have to email them and see if they would look. Maybe someone could post a site they know will ship a specific shipping.

Try it at several sites. What I would look for is a site that says no but in a hesitant fashion. You know what I mean? They generally don't want to do it as it leaves them sitting on unsold processors but with the right touch (pr) and an understanding corporation they may just work with you. I would not then give that info out as they may halt it all together in the future including you. Pr should do the trick.

Newegg did have 1600+ AGOIA proccessors I bought two but now there sold out of the OEM 1600+'s so who know's what they'll have next.

I just got a reply from newegg, saying there was no way to guarantee a specific stepping when ordering from them. :(

I understand where their coming from. I'm sure it would be very time consuming. :rolleyes: :p

ok, im sorta friends with a dude at newegg, thats why i said them....ive ordered alot from them, and had stuff sent back, so i talk to the same dude....so i guess ill call when i get home tomorrow
