Nothing else looks even semi good. I was gona do ultima but they really messed up the game.. so I dunno. Shadowbane i could do. Im really good at the game too.. what do you all think?

I been considering this same question. Asheron's Call 2 was pretty fun. Too many losers playing it though (I'm talking "I have 2 computers, 2 accounts, and I play 2 characters at once losers").

Ultima Online... man that game was great. Too bad they ruined it. The fun of the game was killing the carebear players and looting their corpses to the sound of OOoO OoO OoOOooO. Now they all just hide in the carebear lands.

I heard planetside was good too but... Isn't it just an FPS? Seems kinda retarded to me to pay a monthly fee for an FPS on a huge laggy server. Are there levels and equipment and stuff like that to the game?

Carebear. Haven't heard that one for a while. Does the word Dorktide mean anything to you? Ah, the good ol days of AC flame wars between the PKers and non-PKers. Sometimes I mess it...no I don't.


Anyway, I hear all these people saying how great Ultima was and how its been ruined. If it is...errr was so great why not play on a shard that is similar to early Ultima?

I played planetside for a while and i wasnt too impressed, Im waiting for world of warcraft because Blizzard never sells ppl short and the beta should be out by the end of this year...Hopefully.

UO... was lousy with pkers that made it pointless to even lerave town..

See what the pkers will never admit is they caused their own problem.. too many predators.. not enough prey...

They turned Fellucia into a rotting cesspool so you only have yourselves to blame once everyone else could actually play w/o fear of getting gangbanged by 12 tank mages thinking they were tough **** for slaughtering a lowly woodchopper with a newbie axe

Shadowbane is going to turn into a big Grief Fest simply because of one guild, Lords of Death. They all go out on hunting trips camping spots where ppl lvl at and just kill them non stop. you can barely make it out of the safe zone without being raped. Thing is, all the pkers are like "The game is supposed to be PvP" i can agree with that, i just hate the fact that a Rank 6 has to go wipe out a Rank 2 group just to feel good about himself. Luckily im an Mage Assasin and can dish out more Damage than any other class in the game, so i can hold my own. its great though to sneak up on some big shot pker in the LoD guild, backstab him and kill him before he knows what the hell happened then steal his money Its hard to do that all the time though simply because it seems like every LoD guy has a scout as an escort. Scouts can see me when im invis and sneaking around. i just kill the LoD guys though.

That is the reason this game was doomed to fail before they even started working on the code.

There are only so many people who enjoy ganking noobs all the time and they are/will be the only ones playing SB.

Well I was a mage assin too. ya when ever some one pkd guildmates (during beta bw) they called me. I snuck out there waitied =) when came out to attak, they were gone befor they could do anything. Shadow rocks.

BW pkers didnt do anything wrong. Orginal ultima, alot of pkers, well no. There wernt alot of pkers there were usally 1-2 big pk groups. and about 10-20 big anti pk groups.. guilds.. it worked out it was fun..

NOW fel thing HAHA MAN they killed uo becasue NO ONE will go to fel it sucks. They ruined pking. SB has a good idea with no pk restrints. if u want protection hunt with friends. When we hunted I would hide alone and simply sick pet. IF anyone was so foolish to attak us I would drop at least 2 people in a few secounds. giving lower guys chance run. MAN i made so much gold pking. Thats why I quit becasue I dont lik ethe game being taht easy.

BW I pkd to suport are guild. WE had just wared 3 big nations, ahd sufferd A HUGE attak aginst are own town we needed fast cash so started pking =) 1mil a day aint bad.

Dont say pking ruined ultima. What ruined it was people took life for being to easy. BW pkers who die loose that charter. unless there not stat. SO us pker risked alot I personly went though three mage pkers. DO to stupid things.. oh ya and I pkd during 56k era =) with cable man it was fun.

EverQuest.

Just becasue Dark age, is very bad ballance wise, and can get boring fast.
Everquest has TONS of stuff to keep you busy, I MEAN TONS. costs more thou casue of the expasions

Ok, listen very carefully.

EVERQUEST IS NOT BALANCED. AT ALL. DON'T MAKE ME COME OVER THERE.

Man, I was so addicted to EQ. My best character was a level 35ish Dark Elf Shadowknight with a lamentation blade, enameled black plate, like 8kpp worth of OTHER armor / rings, and a ton of money in the bank. He was NFP friendly, FP Militia let him through with smiles.

And one day, after camping this ridiculous mob that had a no drop quest item for my class armor that I needed, he finally spawned. So me and the group of strangers I had joined ("/yell 35 DESK looking to join TAE or TOWER, please /t me!") the mob FINALLY SPAWNED OMG OMG OMGOMG IMA CRY NOW IT'S HERE!

So we start laying into, and we're OWNING it. My DESK is hitting like dual 50's with the lam blade, the mob is darkness'd thx to me, so he's trying to run away REALLY SLOWLY and BAM he GOES DOWN HOOOORRAAAAY!

The group I was in KNOWS why I'm there, none of them even try to loot. AND IT HAS THE PIECE I NEED HOLY CRAP!

So before I actually click on the thing to get it, this Halfling Druid shows up and asks if he can loot.

"Hey, can I look that corpse?!?!?!?!?!?!?! PLZ"

"Um... Why?"

"See, I want to get the quest item so I can do the quest and get the armor."

"But... that armor is for shadowknights."

"Yeah, I know."

"Maybe you didn't notice. *I'M* a shadowknight."

"So?"

I kind of lost it at that point. It's bad enough that druids are one of the few classes that can solo, but now the little snotbags are stealing quest mobs left and right all over the servers.

Needless to say, it wasn't too much later that I deleted all my characters and never played again.

Wish I hadn't though, I should have sold the account. Sold my UO account for better than $200.

PKers are player killing scum

They inhabit most MMORPG games and run around in packs of 3 or more. They are the type of player that the vast majority of the RPG players hate. Why you ask? Because when you are a newbie trying to level up to say.. level 5.. How fun is it for you to get ganked by 5 tank mages probably avg lvl 20 each.? How about getting repeatedly rez killed?

See the pker thinks and says "Hey its all in good fun.. its only a game" The problem is.. its not fun for those that get killed.

Aww did it take you 4 hours of fighting chickens to make enough stuff to sell so you could buy that somewhat decent sword?? Well guess what.. the pker dosen't care.. he will come along and kill you and take your new sowrd.. Does he need it? no.. will he use it?? no he will probably just drop it somewhere and let it vanish.

So you think.. ok go back to town and get another sword..
OH no they took that 200 gold you had.. now you have to spend the next 5 hours killing chickens again so you can get your sword... But no.. every 20 minutes or so.. another pk squad shows up and kills you again.

Whats that you say??? you loose skill everytime you get killed?? "Well too bad" says the pker while his buddies laugh as such an unskilled noob 'its just a game.."

PKers destroyed UO cause noone wanted to go out of the towns cause pking was rampant. Pkers whined and cried cause all their easy targets were gone and all that was left were other pkers and players that could put up a fight and strike back at the pk squad.

So all of us in "carebear land" are happily killing chickens in peace for that measly 200 gold w/o fear of getting slaughtered by a lvl 30 tank mage and his band of scum.

Splitting the worlds of UO into 2 seperate places was the end result... the cause was too much pking.

Splitting the worlds was the cure.. pkers were and always will be a disease

Thats not the way it works. In any game. I mean At least is shouldnt be =) U mxied ultima/eq too.

This is how it workes. I hunted in PVP areas only. If you were there you wernt a newbie. YOUR NOT TALKING about pkers, your talking about grefiers. I never pkd chiken toating newbies. Your giving a bad reputation to pkers, when its not how we work.

BW shadowbane is differnt. I woudl go aginst lvl 30s when im 44 but I would be aginst 6 people =) so it was fair.
