i can't hit 240 FSB for ANYTHING

tried 3 3 3 9, 3 3 3 11,

Even tried bumping the voltage to 3.1V for my ram. still nothing.

Now, i can hit 235 FSB. but i can't seem to get any higher than that at all.

Any ideas at all? think it might be the ram? or my CPU?

it wouldn't hit 240 FSB at 10.5 x either.

Drop the divider down to like 4:3 or something, then you will be able to see if it is the proc. How hot is your stick of ram? I have heard eb gets realy hot, and that putting a fan on them can help. If that does make a difference you might want to take the heatspreader off because chances are the heatspreader is doing more insulation than heat dissipation.

well, i am at 240 FSB at 10.5 x

and my divider has been droped. its like 4:3 or somewhere along those lines.

i think its my ram....

any ideas?

oh, and my stick of ram does get pretty WARM!!

and i have a Side panel fan, that blows some air onto the ram, cause i zip-tied and moved wires around, so air and hit the ram.

Mine does 2.75 with 1.85v. With 1 more v it would be about the same...unfortuantely I am having problems with my modded nf7 :(

zexmarquies01, if it is your ram there probably isn't much you can do. I have seen it do much better than that, but if it does rated speeds at stock volts not much you can do...sounds like time for a vdim mod!

i can always try 3.3 volts

see what happens. i have only went up to 3.1 volts. if i can get higher speeds with more voltage to ram, then i'll end up taking the heat spreader off the ram, and putting another fan in there, to blow directly on the ram.

i didn't have to use 3.3 volts at all

i moved my Stick of ram, over from slot #3 to slot #1

now, i am at 250 x 10.5

CPU voltage is at 1.9volts
RAM voltage is 3.1 Volts

i rigged up a fan, to sit directly in front of my ram too. the stick of ram stays niiiiice and cool. i can open my case now, and touch the ram, and not feel any heat from it any more at all. and i still have the heat spreader on it too.

i'm doing pretty well now. thanks for everyones responses and all.

Its Been A While

I cant remember the last time i posted, but I should be getting one of the mobile 3000+ today. I just had to get one to try it out. hopefully its a "I" stepping. I also in my time away got a 35 watt 2400+ "I" stepping. It did 2.2 @ 1.55V 11X200 but it ran into a wall there tried getting 2.4 but with 1.775V it wasnt stable and its too hot in here to go higher. once i get my steppings for my mobile 3000+ i'll post them hopefully with some results soon

I'd love to see some results from the Mobile 3000+. Didn't even realize they were available until J4V4K1NG mentioned it.

Just got it 15 minutes ago. steppings AXMA3000FKT4G AXYHA0420TPBW. Its stock voltage is 1.65 im at 1.675 running @12x200 2.4 just don't know if its stable. hope fully it isnt volt hungry. getting ready to run sandra for a while and tonight when it cools down Im gonna prime. as soon as I know more You will Know More

ok up to 1.725V priming no the last two primes have failed @ 1.675 and 1.70 hopefully. One thing I have noticed that is weird on my mbm dash board my cpu socket temp falls down to -1C It must be a glitch hopefully I havent fried any thing Temps are boarderline 38 case 48socket 49 cpu diode. Its just too damn hot in my house. Thats after priming for 30-45 minutes so I think they have reached their max till i up the voltage. I just need some water cooling and that would fix my heat issue

The 3000 mobiles use 1.65v stock which is the same as desktop chips. I would assume they are probably just desktop chips with unlocked multis. The 24-2600's will probably oc higher on average...but I might very well be wrong :D

I know Like I said before I have a 2500M @2.4 (12x200) @ 1.85 and a 2400M @ 2.2 (11x200) @1.55 I just wanted to try the 3000M I mayin the future try a 2600M too dont know for sure money permitting.

By the way

But I would put money on them that they come from the best part of the wafer. cream of the crop just like the other mobiles

why? there's no reason to. they're no different than normal unlocked desktop 3000s.

That might not be completely true. Like he said, they are probably the best of the best like the a64 dtr's that generally oc'd a little higher than normal ones. It isn't like we are talking about big differences here...maybe 300 mhz from the best vs. the worst chips.

Thanks for the back up!!! Just a update failed prime @1.75V So I jumped it up to 1.775V maybe that will help me out. Another thing about prime maybe someone can help me with. At 1.725V it primed for 2hrs11min but when I uped the volts to 1.75 it only primed for 7mins. any suggestions? tried uping the fsb but it doesnt like it past 200 Didnt mess with it much. One thing maybe some one can help me with when I first started OC'ing my 2500M i could run a 250 fsb but recently i am not able to do that any more. the only thing different that I can come up with is the temp in my house is hotter now that before.

are you using blend or the cpu only one? if blend then it's probably not really stressing your cpu but something might be wrong with possibly your ram or mobo.

I'm using the blend. I did change from 512 geil pc3200 to 1g geil pc 4000. I have been running my chipset voltage @ 1.7 for some time now but I run a extreme spirit on the north bridge so it keeps it cool. I don't think it could be damaged could it. Like I said the temp in my house is higher than before. I wish i figure it out cause I'm having a problem with multi over 12 and since my system is having issues with fsb i cant go any higher. I would hate to drop another 150$ into another Lan Party board. What about running Sandra on my system and stress it to see if it might be something besides my cpu.
