If you notice, the article was written using the outdated Shuttle AK31 Rev-2.0, and not the Rev-3.1, which is what's available now.

This make a huge difference, as the Rev-2.0 uses the KT266 chipset, and the Rev-3.1 uses the KT266A chipset. There was a major improvement in memory handling in the "A" chipset, as well as fixing some other problems.

I've had 3 Shuttle AK's, and they have all been great boards.

Awsome overclocking, rock solid stability, cheap!
