You know where I can get an update for my current computer that doesn't support AMD XP processors. Right now, it's about 3 1/2 years old, has Windows XP, Soon to have 512 PC 100 SDRAM, a 910 MHz TBird Processor and is a Compaq that really was top of the line when it was bought...

What's the model number of your Compaq? Compaq might have updates for it at their website. You could also try downloading AIDA32. That program might be able to figure out what motherboard you have and from their you can go to the mobo's website to see what cpus it will support.

your hardware wont support an AMD XP processor. you have a 200mhz fsb and the AMD XP have a minimum of 266mhz fsb.
