Okley dokley,
This is the first time I have posted since the site got updated, and I must say that the webmasters and so forth have done an excellent job. Now for the problem at hand. I have a virgin system, and by that I mean that it's never run. I can't get it to boot at all. The only thing that happens is the fans start spinning, a couple of the LEDs blink, like its gonna post, and then this low tone almost silent bzzzzz. No monitor output or anything. So I believe the problem is the motherboard, but am not sure. Here is my setup.
AMD T-bird 1.33GHz w/266 FSB
iWiLL KA266-r mobo
Maxtor Diamondmax HDD 40 gig
VooDoo 5 5500 agp
Coolermaster 2 HSF
256MB non-registered Crucial PC2100 Ram
Here is what I've tried so far.
Diff vid card, diff proc(rma'd the old one), diff ram, every jumper setting possible!, powered up with no fans, no nothing but ram cpu &proc. It won't beep, regardless of what I do. I called iWill, and they said that if it won't beep with just the proc ram and mobo, then it's one of those 3 or the power supply. How can I find out if its the power supply. If it is the mobo, any recommendations? I've been busy for the last few months @ work in the air force, so i'm kind of behind as far as the new boards go. Sorry this is so long. PLease help...

ok, when that happens to me....I just disassemble EVERYTHING... then I put the mobo on the box it came it..with the..vid card(new, and if that doesnt work spare) memory...monitor..and old ps...and boot it...if it does boot, than its problem is with another piece of hardware...hd etc....it might be that there is an incompatability...or your mobo could be fried...if it still doesnt post then...hth

When that happened to me, I found out it was the mounting studs for my swiftech mc462 shorting out the motherboard. I don't have experience with your heat sink, but make sure nothing is shorting out your board.

I appreciate your feedback. I will give the short out thing a try. What kind of tool do I need to have to check voltages? I just stick it in the molex connectors holes? There should be like 2 ground and one 12.5, and one 5.5 right??? Someone who has electrical exp. please gimme some feedback. Am I in left field here.
