I got an old Magnovox AM/FM reciever and want to put my PC in it. I plan on putting a window on top and my drives, stealthed, on the side panel. There are 6 knobs on the front. I need some ideas as to what they should control. Some will be used for adjusting fan voltages. I want everything to have some sort of function.

My only suggestion for now is don't put a window in it, it would ruin the high-tech professional look it, and windows are overdone, CCFLS would look sweet, though. :D
Maybe one could control the volume. :p

I will post a render of what it should look like using 3d studio. I don't have a digital camera so I can't get one of the original.

NOOOO, You stole my idea
I've been working on this idea for several months, trying to make it as small as possible. With my plan, the only thing to stay the same, is the bezel, and the case is going to be brushed aluminium, when the original was plastic. Same size, but slighly thicker than a PS2. All this with regular sized parts.

What's the model number? I'm sure you could find a pic of it somewhere online?

Mine is going to be fairly large. I'm trying to save my money for a new computer, so I can't buy any smaller parts for this one. I am going to have to cut the case in half and add some sort of spacer to get a little extra room for my tv-card. Hopefully I can get some pics up by tomarrow of what I plan to do. It has a wood finish that is in decent shape. Hopefully I can come through on this project. The only other real mod I've done was put a window on my Antec case.

As far as I can tell it is a Magnavox Solid State Receiver, Model # 4FM036

No. Its just a receiver, no tape deck. Here is a render of what it should look like. The only changes made were to remove the sticker that had the AM/FM station on it.

Receiver
(you may need to copy and paste the link, sorry)

The LEDs are for a VU meter and the gauges are for ambient temp, cpu temp, cpu load. I have found a circiut for the VU meter and one for the CPU load. Hopefully I can work the other two out.
