ive got 2 titan alu 120mm 30db fans that i would like to mod to 7v, its currently got a 3 pin connection but im gonna change that to a 4 pin.. now my question is.. if i connect the black wire to the red one on the 4 pind and the red one to the black one on the 4 pin is it then 7v or 5?

that'd be backwards,

for 5v connect the red wire from the fan to the red wire in the molex, and the black wire from the fan to a ground in the molex.

for 7v connect the red wire from the fan to the yellow (12v lead) in the molex, and connect the black from the fan to the red (5v lead) in the molex.

cheers,
J.

Thanks!, but do i have to use a molex? cant i just clip off the molex and 3 pin and just connect the cables? then insulate them using insulation tape? cause i dont have any female molexes :(

Hmm i rememberd that the fans in my other comp uses 4 pins... so i took theyr 4 pins, and gave them a 3. Then i 7v modded theyr female plugs and connected my fans that i wanted to mod to them. And it works ! xD

Now i got aluminium 120mm fans (titan alu TFD-A12025 @ 7v) when i compared the modded fan to another titan alu the noise diffrance is huge! and it still blows :)
