I'm working on a project which involves using thermal paste or pads. I used up the last of some arctic silver that was at least 10 years old but still pastefully pliable. The, being polite, reasonable result of my prototype indicated that the paste was still good. But being the last of the paste I owned I thought (thought bubble time) I should inquire here before buying anything. Small surface area (40mm sq), 60 watt load, heat sink has the same footprint. Fans TBD.

What's the cool-kid TIM or pad in the marketplace these days? I've re-read some recent Cooling Posts here and think there are some really good answers out there.

Have at it. No local stores that would carry it so it will have to be shipped to me. Thanks very much in advance. I'll post up some pics (one teaser is already posted) as parts arrive, fire trucks, etc. Heat sinks are due today.

SYY-157 is very good, especially for the price. I am running it on my CPU and GPU. Temps are good enough that people think my sensors are broken.. :D

Here's a good review of thermals pastes below. Me, I stick with the latest MX-4 for mobo reviews or I actually have some Kryonaut I use on own PC. The reality is the difference between most pastes isn't much. You'll screw it up by a poor application sooner than you'd notice the difference between most pastes.

I had some Kronkyt but I sold them.
1. It's Kryonaut. Thermogrizzly Kryonaut
2. How does that help the OP with anything?

That IMO is the best to use.
