I own a 17" monitor.I usually work it at 800x600.When I change the
resolution at 1024x768 the size changes and the picture does not cover
all the screen.Do I have to set the size with OSD every time I change
resolution? Is there any utility that autosizes the picture?

this is caused by the refresh rate of each resoltuion.
you need to set it to the highest your monitor supports, without distorting the screen.
this is something you can find in the manual of the monitor.

there is a problem with the refresh rate and nvidia video cards. if this is your case youll need a refresh rate fix. if its not your case it will depend on the Operating System youre using.
W98 will record each refresh rate to each resoltuion everytime you set a refresh rate and push "ok" to close the display properties. W2k, and i beleive XP too, will try to use the same refresh rate to each resolution.

try setting different frequencies for the refresh rate and check which one you prefer to use. the highest the better.
