Monitor shows darker

well i went to school and when i got home my monitor was a darker brightness then before. my brightness is on max on the monitor and still wasnt where it was any ideas what is causing this or how to fix it.
i was planing on reseating the agp (geoforce2) card and re attaching hte monitor to see if that does anything.

any help be cool this brightness sucks for games

What's the video level set at on your monitor? On my monitor, there are two settings for the video level: .7v and 1.0v. 1.0v is quite a bit darker than .7v, not to meantion alot easier on the eyes.

I have this same problem with a moniter I got in 1996. Raising the Gamma isn't working! Need help.
