Is there any rank of most powerful PC's in the world, could you send me a link? I know about futuremark.com, but I have to download and register their software. Maybe some personal pages? Thanks.

It is also 1 thousand million floating point operations per second.

I would think it'd be 8,000,000 FLOPS. Why? Giga = 1 million, a Gigabyte is 1,000kilobytes, and a kilobyte is 1,000 bytes. 1,000x1,000=1,000,000Gnufsh said:It's the worls's most powerful super computer currently, not the most powerful cpu. GFLOPS is GigaFLOPS, a FLOPS being Floating Point OPerations per Second, I believe. 8GFLOPS is 8,000,000,000 floating point operations per second. Keep in mind that this is a theoretical maximum. I don't pretend to know what the best CPU in the world is. The NEC one is good, but probably not entirely suitable for the desktop market. Anyone remember the FLOPS on a P4 off hand?
