Motherboard and ram speed compatibility ?'s

I recently bought 2 gigs of PQI Turbo DDR2 533 (pc4200). The motherboard I am looking to buy, however, has a ddr standard of 600. What exactly does this mean, and will it lead to me not getting the most out of any components in my new rig?

I am sorry for the novice question, but RAM is, perhaps, one of the most difficult things for me to grasp (next to psus of course ).
