i see allot of the old 4 generation 1150 and in the box say it can run 4 generation and 5 generation of Intel CPU so can it run both and use the same ddr3 memory or i need to buy the ddr4 memory too?

They all use DDR3 the z97 will run both out of the box but z87 would need the proper BIOS update to run a 5th en devils canyon CPU. So the one you linked will run both CPUs and use DDR3
