I'm getting Windows Vista tomorrow and was also wanting to get a DirectX10 video card to enhance the next-gen. games coming out. I was wondering if my current motherboard(Intel i925X) will support a DirectX10 GPU such as NVidia's G80 series video card. Or if I should just buy a new motherboard and if so any suggestions, but try to keep it somewhat down in price but still good performance.

As long as the board has a pci-e slot the new card will work, doesn't matter what board it is. You will need a lot of power to feed a beast like the G80 though.

Ok, thanks. Then I'm also assuming my motherboard will be able to support a higher wattage Power Supply? I know the power connector is 24-pin.

Sure, since the power goes straight from the psu to the card via two power connectors(look for a psu with two) the mobo doesn't have to deal with the extra power going through, and in respect to the cpu well it will suck the same amount of power so a more powerful psu will not put any more stress on the power system of the mobo.
