Hello all,

I'm a long-time water cooled pc builder and I just upgraded my 3080ti with EK block (some output issues) to a MSI 4080 super Gaming X Slim. I was originally going to get the Sapphire Nitro 7900 XTX but saw that this was the same price. At any rate, I've been searching for waterblock compatibility now that I have it home (I should have looked before but found a deal and jumped for it) and I am coming up empty handed.

Does anyone have any experience with this card and the available cooling options? EK, Byksi, Alphacool and many others don't have availability for this card, but do for the Gaming X Trio MSI card. I am hopeful someone has some input here before I tear it down and start buying blocks that fit similar PCBs to make a custom solution.

Thanks in advance

I would compare the PCB with other MSI 4070Ti/super and 4080/super cards. Many models share the same PCB. I made a similar mistake as I picked the ASUS 4070S EVO recently, and it has a slightly different PCB than the non-EVO version. The standard version shares PCB with the 4070Ti TUF and at least two brands have blocks for this card.

You can also request to make a block for your card. There is a form on the Bykski website, and Alphacool does that, too. I wouldn't expect EKWB to release it. Except for Alphacool, Bykski and maybe Barrow, all other brands release blocks only for 2-3 top selling cards.

Thanks for the input. I didnt even consider the form. I think this is gonna come down to looking at a lot of pcbs to see what's the closest fit. I had to do something similar with my R9 390x's in the past. I'll be sure to report back because it seems like no one has tried an existing block on this card and commented about it.
