I not sure if this is the correct section for this question. I have a MSI Geforce 4 card that I bought that has no fan just a wimpy Heatsink. This card seems to be overhearting because after long use I start having trouble with the video.

The questions is that I have a old Volcano 6+ heatsink and fan from a 1500+ that I wanted to have on the card. I removed the fan from the heatsink but how would I go attaching the fan to the card??? and would it be cheaper to buy a kit with a fan/heatsink to add on the card?

If the fins on the heatsink are close enough together then you should be able to use a couple of screws to secure it, otherwise a couple of drops of superglue should do the trick. Buying a new heatsink and fan wouldnt be cheaper, but would probably be more effective, If you dont mind voiding the warranty.

I bought it about 5 months ago. I dont think there is anymore warranty.... expecially @ Frys so Ill try it,,,,.... any links to where I could find these mods?

how about this for a HSK mod ;)
is my G3 ti200 with a retal AMD HSK & fan
all i did was hold the HSk in place then mark out the 2 holes beside the GPU
drilled and tapped them
and bolted the HSK to the card with Nylon washers on the back

Good job Borgy, but not everyone can just do that, lol, at least not without dmging the circutry of the board. Good job though if it still runs. Good Job!
