msi k7d Master+2400mp+overclockable?

What do you guys think of the overclockability of this rig? K7D Master, 2x2400+MP 2x512MB DDR registered RAM. I cant seem to get the multipler in the bios to do anything but not boot. I am aware of the 8x bit and the fact that the multipliers are not showing support for them. I can boot with 7x in the bios (15x) but havent been able to with either 6x (14x) and 8x (16x). Any clues? I can run at 140FSB but that is it. I really dont want to push the FSB.

Sorry this board dosen't support multiplier manipulation for multipliers greater than 12.5x even when the 8x bit is enabled. This topic has been covered extensively in several good threads you might want to do a search. But the long and short of it, is the only way to adjust for higher multipliers is to physically mod the multiplier to what setting you want. Or O/C the FSB to 150mhz.

What type of speeds are people getting with 2400+MP, with or without the k7d? Please give voltages too.

I think the mp's are usually the cream of the crop when amd selects processors from a certain batch. What's the rest of the code on the processors?

I've got 2 2400xp's in the k7dmaster modded to mp's and since my cooling is so crap I only changed the fsb to 140. I left all other settings on auto. This achieved 2100mhz on my mobo and with bios upgraded to 1.6(1.5 available from msi) it reconises them as 2600mp's.

verbatum, are you saying that it is seeing a 15 multiplier?

If u leave multi settings alone it automatically sets to 15x. Check wcpuid or sandra to see proof after boot.
