Gamespy Daily had almost nothing negative about this board to say. - http://planethardware.com/features/mainboard/msi_k7t_turbo/
Because it retails for around $100 I was wondering if it can be any good. I havent really seen anything posted about is so if anyone has any thoughts on this motherboard, then please tell me because I think I am going to buy it, but of course I don’t want to find out that its not that great after I buy it….

I am using a MSI K7T Turbo R with a TB 1 GHz AXIA @ 1.4GHz Vc =1.7
see my bench mark below

I bought my TB 1 G AXIA with the MSI K7T Turbo-R as a combo for $225 at Fry's electronics.. $100 sound like a good price, watch out about shipping and handling as that's where some companies make their money

For this setup (there are several RAIDs), RAID 0 is striping which increases HD performance thru load balancing and elevated sorting with a full backup as add bonus. RAID 1 in mirroring for data protection (copying data to twp drives). You would need identical HD to benifit from the RAID. Most folks don't use it, it's nice if you handle a lot of data

That board is GREAT!! I have the raid-free version, which is identical except for raid. It is a very good board to O/C. Easy and stable. The software that comes with it is top notch.

This board is absolutly great! I like them so much that I'm going to put my Turbo into my wifes machine, and I've just ordered a KT7-Turbo Limited from Newegg.com for only $128.00!!!

Thanks for the info, if it doesnt support DDR then will that screw me in the long run? Also will it screw me in the present, because if ddr is 2100 and the other is pc-100 or 133 then it *sounds* like there is a big difference. People think running their ram at 135 mhz instead of 133 is so great, so wouldnt running it at 2100 mhz be like really sweet?

You can actually run your FSB faster than 133 (I seen upward in 145s). Presently, price versus performance is high and the chip sets are not a tuned as can be for DDR.

As it goes, buy the best you can presently. Waiting for the next best will may you unhappy cause you will always be waiting. As for upgrading the main board and memory, each generation of processor has changed the memory with it . 30....72...168....PC66...PC100....PC133, and as an example, you cannot use PC133 on a machine designed for PC66 and that's only about a year difference, the motherboard cannot slow the memory down so it sees only part of the memory. Unless you have lots of money.....
