I have this board and was wondering what the highest fsb that it can handle? I have pc150 cas 2 ram but when I set it to 150 I get artifacts and then garbled and then freeze. I am thinking it may be my vid card since at 150 the agp bus is at 88mhz I think. Anyway can someone tell me what the highest they got there board to. I thank you all in advance.

The highest I've achieved is 148 but I know it's due the RAM as it's only CAS2 PC133.

ok so maybe it is just my vid card not liking the high agp bus speed. that sucks but oh well. I will try 148 and see if it acts weird at that speed too. Thanks for the reply.

wow I get the same. I just had Prime95 stop on me, so I took the advice of a couple of members here and changed the mem speed from cas 2 to 3. Prime95 is still running after 2 hours.

The settings are up to 166mhz, but you may not get that high, I have crap ram so I use the multiplyer.

Trancebear you wrote "The settings are up to 166mhz, but you may not get that high, I have crap ram so I use the multiplyer. " I

know this but I cannot go above 148 it seems before artifacts and then freeze. I think it is my vid card that does not like that high bus. I have tried cas 3 and cas 2 and timing by spd and all fail at 150. I have quality pc150 ram that is supposed to be 2-2-2-5 at 150 and it works that way to 148 so i would assume that it is fine. Oh well I guess I will have go get a new vid card. Maybe a gf3 or a gf2 ultra is in order.

Yeah, sounds like the video card. Try bumpin your multi up and lowering the FSB.

I don't want to go any faster I just want to go higher witht the fsb. I am at the limit of this chip which is 1000 stable. So I want to get as close to that with the highest fsb possible. I think that the highest I can get with my vid card is 148 so that is fine. I just wanted to know if others had got there msi boards past 150 to rule that out as a cause for not going higher than 148. Thanks for the help everyone.

When my Tonicom pc-166 comes I will let you know if mine does.

That would be great if you would tell me. I am still thinking it is my vid card since I can run 148 cas 2 fastest timings and it is fine. Oh well I am getting a new cpu and video card in the near future so it is fine for now. thanks again for the help.
