This isn't an overclocking question, but I may need to resort to that to fix the issue. Has anyone figured out how to get the KT4V to recognize the Athlon XP 2700+ correctly? I checked out the CPU support on the KT4V page and it skips right over that setting! It lists the Athlon XP 2600+ and then the Athlon XP 2800+, though MSI lists the motherboard capable of All Athlon XP processors from the 3000+ down. I have tried setting it to the 2600+ settings but it only sees it as a 2100+ and setting it at the 2800+ setting locks up the board and I have to clear cmos.

I've flashed the BIOS to the latest (1.9) and I've got a Volcano 8 heatsink and processor fan on it so I wouldn't think cooling is the issue (at least the BIOS temp is fine)...

Any ideas? I've e-mailed MSI tech support about this, and I've posted on MSI's forums but so far no solution. Someone there suggested I ask on here as someone on here may have run across this problem...

Thanks for any help anyone can get me...

I've done that and it locks up the machine....

Maybe the BIOS is partially corrupt somehow because when I go in to the frequency/voltage settings and change the settings manually on the FSB, CPU Ratio, and Vcore, the Vcore changes to strange characters (code) and not to numerals.

I'll have to look into that...
