I see a lot of complaints about various companies having scammy warranty service. Mostly ASUS but when I searched MSI came up with negative comments as well. I'm not saying those people didn't have a problem but I'm just adding my drop of experience to the bucket in the spirit of fairness. They got my rtx 4090 fixed/replaced in less than a week including the travel time to them and back again and it works fine. I also had a bad ram slot on a z690 tomahawk and it's going to come back today. That one took a little while but it was a couple weeks not months or anything crazy. I didn't get any red tape about bent pins or anything like that. Just an email that lets you check on the progress. The only annoying thing is they don't give you a tracking number unless you ask for it but it only takes a few minutes in live chat. The fact that I had to warranty 2 things by this brand is another story but of course there's always the chance of user error though I'm very careful it could happen. Moral of the story is they didn't give me any crap and just took care of it so add one happy customer to the pile unless the motherboard comes back today screwed up but I doubt it.

Honestly, I have only had to RMA 3 times, once with XFX and they hooked me up right away, and twice with Asus, once for a GPU, and once for a board.. never had a problem.

Turns out nothing was wrong with the Asus GPU.. ended up being a PSU since they sent the same one back (y)

It's human nature. People are far more likely to make some noise about a negative experience. You can provide service to 100 people. If 3 people had a bad experience, chances are all 3 will be loud about it, while the rest (who are satisfied) are far less likely to say anything.

Yeah, every company has their share of positives and negatives. Lets just try to keep this according to the thread title and not fly off the rail.

No experience with MSI, RMA. Its good to know you had a positive experience. :)

Like was said, every brand has horror stories. But it's such a small minority of overall nteractions, theres no way I'd use that as a factor in a decision to buy a product or not. That said, those experiences and frustrations are real, I guess I just like my chances of it not happening again, or as some may say, a glutton for punishment.

The few times I've had to dance with their CS it's been positive, enough that I'll go with them over a competitor when comparing two similar products.

But yeah, as said, there's always something that goes wrong, I've seen the horror stories.

I have mixed feelings about MSI support, but most products in my country go back to stores, not MSI support. I still had some RMAs that I had to solve with MSI directly.
The last one was a mobo review sample, but the socket pins were slightly bent from the installed CPU. It was working fine, but they were reflecting the light a bit differently than others, and I didn't want to risk it getting worse in time. Nothing was my fault, no bad mount, too high cooler pressure, or anything like that. I exchanged emails for a month, and then they promised to replace the socket for ~$40. I agreed and sent it to them. When they checked the mobo, they told me it would be free. They sent it back after a week, but the pins were just slightly fixed. I still noticed that they reflected the light differently, but it wasn't as easy to see as before. It was free, but I wasted a lot of time on that, and it was like it didn't change anything. I still agreed that if anything happens, then they will replace the socket in the future and made them confirm that in the support ticket, so it was in the history.
Like I said, it's not bad as officially the mobo has no warranty, but I'm not fully happy about it either. In the end, support service highly depends on the country and the person who handles it.

To add my 2 cents. I wouldn't buy MSI again. not because they didn't fix their problems on 2 identical (Except one is black and the other white) GPU's. More that they both had the same fan failures in less than a year. prior to this I have never had a fan failure on a GPU. Maybe I could understand this on a $300 GPU but these were $700-$800 GPU's. They could either make better fans at that price or user replaceable and have the fans available . Oh and maybe because I am East cost but my repairs took around a month for turnaround and that includes me sending the cards to them 2 day USPS. $35)

This is running 24/7 f@h . Maybe a gamer has less of a problem.

This is my issue with MSI stuff. I've had multiple GPUs and a motherboard with crappy fans on them that die after a very unreasonable amount of time. They haven't changed after 15+ years from what I've been watching with their GPUs.

Yeah, if you're faH, I wouldn't msi gpu either. If you're a gamer... i wouldnt sweat it. I dont think their fans aren't meant to run 24/7/365 for years.

Remember, these have 'zero fan' feature for a reason (noise mostly, but you get the point).

I'd love ti see a comparison between gpu vendors and the MTBF on their fans...

My issues cropped up before I got into f@h. YMMV
