alrighty. yes i wish he didn't use msn 8, but that's not my choice. =/ hmm, i have installed msn 8 fresh onto his machine, and when opening the msn version of internet explorer, it runs ok the first couple of times then the computer locks up. You can still move the mouse, but are unable to bring anything up such as the task manager. The hard drive seems to be in some sort of constant, nice, good old loop and just chugs along until i hard reset it.

I also tried upgrading msn 8 with all it's patches and it still does the same thing.

My father's computer is an epox 8kha with a 1.4 TB in it. has 512 ddr ram and a gf3 in it. I updated the motherboard drivers thinking that may fix something, but no luck. He is running a registered version of Windows XP Home btw. I'm gonna try and kill all other processes and only run msn 8 when he's done tonite.

Hoping someone here may be able to point out something, if not I'll try sendin them an email laterz. Dealing with msn support is like pulling teeth. All they told him was to uninstall and reinstall. Duh.

later,
tim
