Yesterday I was playing cyberpunk and the computer went dark. I'm running two monitors and the second one shut down first then the video cards fans went to full speed and the main one went dark. I decided to restart it and I had no video at all and about 10 seconds later the fans spun up to full speed.
I tried deleting/reinstalling new drivers, I want with Version: 572.83 because it has been working.
I tried it this morning and it was the same. I installed my other card gtx980 ti and it worked ,that what im on now.
Has anyone experienced anything like this ? I'm sure I'm leaving out something so please ask.

The monitors went dark the computer was still running

I had other cards exhibit the same symptoms until it went out. I then tested the cards in another rig and it did the same thing. Swapped out to a known working card and it was fine.

Got another rig to test the card out? If the warranty is done on it, could be a good candidate for the "Oven Trick" ;)

Yeah...It doesn't matter, EVGA says there isn't a warranty on my card. Isn't that some :poop::bang head:rain: I was wanting a new card, now I'll have to pay the outrageous prices:cry::cry::cry:
Now what to get??

The last couple driver gens (56*.**+) have some issues with dual monitor setups, haven't seen them hit the 3*** yet, problems have been mostly on the 5*** and a few 4***, but................ Yeah, always DDU it (y)

Yeah, I tried running just one monitor, and it still went crazy. I hate it. I never updated to the latest driver because I read there were issues.

Add/Remove Programs

JLK03F150, I used the add/remove in windows like I've been doing for years. I didn't use DDU in Safe Mode or install a driver package with the internet disconnected

I ended up wiping down the drive in case of other underlying issues. So I'm back up and running with my trusty 980Ti, I bought this when they first came out and it's been a good one. The 3060 lasted just a month over three years, and I paid out the butt for that at the time.
