Im sad now :( both of my 366's lock up when I play diablo2. the 366@550 locked last time in 15 min and also it wont complete 3dmark2001 voltage dont help. my 366@575(when I run that one at 550) it locks in diablo about 3 times a day. im using 2.1v for that one, the seller said its stable. it doesnt even get hot. could it really be possible for a celeron to be stable in some games no problem and crash in others? diablo2 runs slow at 366MHz on geforce2mx. is it bad programming of diablo2? quake3 runs fast as hell

Hello fellow D2 player :)

Well there are a coupple things you can conscider doing.

1. Clock it down a bit for stability purposes. You need to run a stable system in order to enjoy it and not have to guess when it is going to crash. Especially during trading..

2. Get some serious cooling happening. eg case fans and a better heatsink

3. Use as little voltage as possible to obtain your desired goal in mhz = less heat.

4. Trade in your 2 celery's for a P-II 400+ or a P-III series chip. Preferably a P-III

5. D2 is a major resource HOG!!! lol. get some more RAM, 256 MB should do the trick.

6. Faster HD(s) D2 is a HUGE game. You need the data from the hd's quicker.

Trust me, I know how it is trying to get a decent D2 machine built for as cheap as possible. I was able to run D2 pretty smooth with a 400 mhz system 128 MB RAM and an Ultra wide SCSI HD as os with swap file and a UDMA 66 drive for the game data.

Good Luck!

I got 256mb ram and a 30GB 7200 rpm hdd. anyways instead of 458MHz celeron, I used a 300a@504 and no lockups so far after hours :) its the same celeron that does 525 but in that mobo theres only 112, 124 and 133. 504 is 96% as fast as 550 due to fsb
