What does it mean when in MBM5.06 I get readings on my +5V ranging from 5.13-4.89? I get this all the time. I have a 350W Enermax in my system now but I have a 431W on the way. It will come in tomorrow but I would like to know if this fluxuation in voltage is a problem? I get all kinds of problems on my machine when I push it too far. Right now I hav my system at 10.5x133 to test it out but last time I had it like this, I got all kinds of registry problems the next time I booted up and my system went ape-poop. Help.

Do you own or have access to a decent digital multimeter? If you can get one, measure the +5V on one of the unused 4-pin molex connectors from the PSU, while you have your CPU at full load. Compare that voltage to the voltage you read in the monitoring program you run. You will, not doubt, see a substantial difference. That is due to the voltage dropping across the run of wire from the PSU to the ATX connector, along with the resistance of the ATX connector pins and the voltage paths on the motherboard. Even with my 400W PSU, I was seeing this and I took one of the unused +5V wires and soldered it directly to the collector of one of the switching transistors in the Vcore regulator circuit. No more voltage drop. If I have to remove the motherboard from the case, it requires a little more effort as I have to unsolder that lead, but I have not had to remove the mobo since I did the mod anyway. After doing this simple mod, my OC stability increased. I recommend it, possibly even using 2 unused +5V wires.
