Well, technically my second (my first was an AMD K6 400Mhz).

AMD 3700+

The only reason I stayed with 939 instead of going AM2 is because of cost restriction. I'm really excited (I'm in class right now, so I have to wait til I get home to see how it is).

Anyone have experience with this processor?! I figured people here in the AMD sub-forum would. How does it work, what temps would I be seeing? Thanks!

The 3700 happens to be the best single core proc in the 939s IMO. You can get 2.8 easy on a decent mobo with a clean PSU. With DDR500 at HTT255 and Ram on the 200 divider will yield DDR510 and cpu at 2.805G. With a DFI LP D or SLI you may get more from it.

I just talked to someone in my class that claimed that he got 4.2 stable on the 939 3700+ I just don't think that he was telling the truth LOL.

I suppose the guy at the tiger direct store was telling the truth that this processor is one of the best. Thanks for the information.

haha. No, I don't think I've seen anyone get above 3.0 ghz with EXTREME cooling. Unless he means 2.4 ghz :). Its a nice chip and nice buy. Good luck with it.

Can't wait til I get out of class, I'm gonna go home and install it! I jus thope my RAM isn't bad from my P4 Rig. I really think it was the MB that crapped out in that rig.

Well, I got the CPU and Motherboard installed. It's running now! I love this so far. I have to find the correct drivers so I can install windows on my SATA drive, and now I can take full advantage of SATA 2.

Once I get the install on the SATA drive, I will definately post some benchies!
